On day three of our 4 days in Ishigaki in August 2026, the four of us visited the Ishigaki Limestone Cave despite the strong wind outside. 2. Wet the whole way through, but worth it

Maybe because of the rain the day before, water was dripping almost constantly inside, and getting a bit wet was unavoidable. There were a lot of puddles too. Flip-flops were fine underfoot, but clothes you don't mind getting wet are worth wearing.

Afterward, it's worth stopping at nearby Mirumiru Honpo for gelato — the view from the open grassland out to the ocean there is stunning.

On day four, after checking out, we drove about 30 minutes from the city to Kabira Bay, one of Ishigaki's signature sights. We didn't have time to go down to the lower lookout, so we settled for the view from the parking lot above.
